Kick-off for the new CHR Vivalia Cœur du Luxembourg construction site

This Monday 1 June 2026 marks the very beginning of a major hospital construction project, with the start of earthworks for the CHR Vivalia Cœur du Luxembourg.

Located along the E411 motorway between Habay-Houdemont and the Anlier forest, the project will provide 570 beds and bring together the activities of several hospital sites within an agile, modular infrastructure.

Built on a sunny hillside, the new hospital opens widely onto the Rulles valley and makes nature a true support for healing: unobstructed views from all rooms, therapeutic gardens, an orchard, flowering meadows, a health trail and patios bathed in light.

Organised into four autonomous hubs connected by a central street, it offers an agile, extendable and “Covid-proof” model, with clearly separated flows and automated logistics.

Driven by strong environmental ambitions (renewable energy, water management, healthy materials, rewilding of the site and short supply chains), it aims for a minimal footprint while maximising comfort and quality of life for both patients and staff. The project targets the ‘nearly Zero Energy Building’ standard and restores local biodiversity.
